About

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles is one of the largest youth mentoring organizations in Southern California, serving nearly 1,500 children annually. Through trusted, one-to-one mentoring relationships, BBBSLA connects youth with caring adult and peer mentors who provide guidance, encouragement, and positive role models to help them succeed academically, socially, and personally.

What They Offer

  • Community-Based Mentoring: One-to-one outings and activities with a dedicated adult mentor
  • School-Based Mentoring: Weekly mentoring sessions during the school day
  • High School Bigs: Teens mentor younger students while building leadership skills
  • Workplace Mentoring: Career exposure and professional guidance
  • College PAC: College preparation, persistence, and scholarship support

Who It’s For

Youth ages 6–18 across Los Angeles County, particularly students from underserved communities. Volunteer mentors (“Bigs”) are adults and high school or college students.

Impact

  • Nearly 1,500 youth served annually

  • 97% high school graduation rate among participating youth
