Public Records Request

If you are a party to a case being handled by the Long Beach City Prosecutor’s Office, you must request records through the discovery process. (Cal. Penal Code Section 10545). Also records regarding criminal investigations are exempt from the Cal. Public Records Act (Cal. Gov. Code Section 6254(F)); Williams v. Superior Court (1993) 5 (Cal. 4th 337). If you are requesting a police report or information regarding an arrest, such a request should be made to the appropriate law enforcement agency.
