About Us:
We hire promising law school students through our paid Law Clerk program, preparing them for practice once they pass the State Bar exam. There is no guarantee we will hire a Law Clerk when they pass the State Bar exam, but that happens frequently. If you are curious about the salary structure for Deputy City Prosecutors, click here.
A law student interested in our paid Law Clerk program should send a resume and cover letter (explaining your interest in prosecution) to Chief of Staff Sherri Seldon (sherri.seldon@longbeach.gov).
All students are encouraged to apply, especially if you have completed (or will complete) your 2nd year of law school by the time you would be a Law Clerk. Students who are studying for the Bar Exam, or have recently taken the Bar Exam and are awaiting results, may also apply.
It is our mission to ethically and effectively prosecute the guilty, protect crime victims, and improve the quality of life in Long Beach. We are committed to ensuring that justice is done.
